Olympic Riders: Karen O'Connor

Karen O’Connor is one of the most distinguished riders in US Eventing history. A four time Olympian ('88, '96, '00, '08), O'Connor won team silver in 1996 and team bronze in 2000, along with current teammate Amy Tryon.

O'Connor has been named USEA Lady Rider of The Year a record 10 times, including a streak of four titles in a row (1995-98). She won the training phase of the American Eventing Championships twice ('04, '05), and has twice won the prestigious Rolex Three-Day-Event ('97, '99).

O'Connor, an Olympic alternate, recently made news when she was named to replace Heidi White and her injured mount Northern Spy in Beijing.

O'Connor's Olympic mount was Mandiba, a 9-year-old Irish thoroughbred gelding.
